3M Microfinishing Film Roll 362L, 60 Mic 3MIL, 12 in x 50 ft x 3 in (304.8mmx15.25m), Plastic Core, ASO
Built for Microfinishing and Precision Manufacturing
On flat parts such as aluminum die castings, cylindrical or contoured tooling and machine parts — consistent and predictable finishes are key. 3M Microfinishing Film Roll 362L achieves close tolerances by way of a uniform film backing and micron-graded abrasive grain. The abrasive mineral is distributed precisely and uniformly over the backing, which helps produce a consistent, predictable finish each time.
Our 3M Microfinishing rolls are commonly used to produce industrial components like custom flanges and fittings for the oil and gas industry. Automotive parts, like crankshafts, camshafts and transmission parts must meet critical geometrical tolerances and exacting finish requirements. 3M Microfinishing films deliver exceptional results and are resistant to oils, water and emulsions. Manufacturers also rely on our microfinishing films for precision machining of steel printing components, dies for industrial equipment and supplies, and CNC machining parts.
Smooth, High-Strength Polyester Backing
The uniform thickness of film provides a far more consistent backing for the precise application of resins and micron-graded mineral. The 3 mil polyester is helpful when close tolerances are important. In conjunction with high tolerance machines, the abrasive can consistently produce high tolerance parts and finishes consistently in specification.
Micron-Graded Aluminum Oxide
We engineer 3M Microfinishing Film Roll 362L by bonding fine micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral to the film backing. Due to the fine grade ranges, it’s visually difficult to distinguish one grade from another, and because some applications may require multiple grits on the same machine simultaneously, our microfinishing film is color-coded to help avoid errors.
Industrial professionals rely on aluminum oxide for its fast cut-rate and long life. It makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is used for a wide range of sanding and finishing applications and is engineered for a great number of applications.
