The 3M CBN Wheel 143BI wheels are used for grinding primary and secondary relief angles on cutting tools made of tool steel and high speed steel. This general purpose wheel offers a balance between cut rate and good form retention during grinding operations.

Our 3M CBN Wheel 143BI was designed for high performance primary and secondary relief grinding. This process is used in the production and sharpening of cutting tools. Cutting edges are typically “relieved” to enhance chip clearance. Primary relief involves removing material directly behind the cutting edge. For secondary relief, a slight bevel is ground next to the primary relief.
