The Benefits of 3M Ceramic Precision-Shaped Grain and Scotch Brite Web
Scotch-Brite Deburr and Finish PRO Unitized Wheel has all the benefits operators have come to expect from our Scotch-Brite abrasives, including load resistance and responsive open web. What sets this wheel apart from other Scotch Brite abrasives is 3M Precision-Shaped Grain. The proprietary mineral – interwoven throughout the abrasive – is engineered for hardness and strength. The sharp-cutting mineral is counteracted by soft, buoyant nylon fibers that respond to surface irregularities and contours. Gaps between fibers allow debris to escape and help minimize loading. Together, the web and mineral combine to aggressively tackle the substrate without sacrificing predictable results.
Ideal for Robotic Deburring
With a wide range of conformability options and high consistency, long-lasting Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are a great option for robotic deburring. Scotch-Brite Deburr and Finish PRO Unitized Wheel quickly removes burrs and sharp edges in end-of-arm tooling operations, delivering consistent performance through the full life of the abrasive.
The Difference Is in the Construction
Unitized wheels differ from convolute wheels, because they feature a layered construction as opposed to being wound around a core: the open web is cured and compressed for added strength and durability. The unique production method makes unitized wheels a good match for edges and contours.
Moreover, the wheels may be run clockwise or counter-clockwise. We recommend using this wheel with the 3M Die Grinder (sold separately). For projects that require an extended wheel, 3M Extended Die Grinder (sold separately), and the 936 unitized mandrel (sold separately) are good accessories to have on hand.
Scotch Brite Deburr and Finish PRO Unitized Wheels are ideal for maintenance operations. These hard-working, high-performance products last through dirt, corrosion and other contaminants while reducing the chance of changing part geometry — helping you get the job done faster.
