Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning HS Roll, 887092, BF-HS, A/O Medium, 50 in x 40 yd, Jumbo, 1 ea/Pallet
Standard Abrasives™ Surface Conditioning HS Roll is made with tear-resistant, high-strength buff and blend material that won’t fray in the face of hard edges. For these reasons, it’s a good match for final finishing on irregular shaped parts, like pipe threads and edges of molded glass containers.
LONG
High Initial Rate of Cut
Standard Abrasives™ Surface Conditioning HS Roll combines nonwoven nylon fibers and aluminum oxide mineral using a resin bond, consequently creating an open web. Its resin bond tolerates heat and enhances overall abrasive durability. HS abrasive material is ideal for final finishing on non-ferrous metals, brass, steel, bronze, pewter, stainless steel and plated plastics. When a decorative finish is desirable, it’s a good material to choose.
The aluminum oxide mineral incorporated in the abrasive is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention. Moreover, gaps between the nonwoven fibers allow swarf and debris to escape, prolonging abrasive service life. The open web is buoyant and responds to surface irregularities, so it works well on both flat and contoured surfaces. The nylon fibers won't splinter during grinding, offering a good alternative to steel wool.
Great Versatility
Standard Abrasives™ Surface Conditioning HS Roll comes in Medium and Medium Type F grades. To distinguish between the two, Type F has a bit fluffier or thicker open web, so it’s especially pliable and spongy. Type F is a good choice for operators whose workpieces have very close tolerances and who are concerned about sustaining overall part geometry. One of the greatest benefits of receiving this material in roll form is that it may be shaped or cut to size in order to accommodate your unique project needs.
Each of the Standard Abrasives Buff & Blend materials was purposefully designed to have unique abrasive qualities and characteristics. In this way, operators can find the right abrasive to suit their specific application. What you can expect each time is a spongy, responsive nonwoven abrasive that resists loading and delivers a consistent cut – part after part.
